Rachel Kelsall, 54, lives in Manchester with her family where she runs her own plant propagating business. But a couple of years ago Rachel started to experience bad shoulder pain. Never one to give up she went looking for a solution. This is Rachel’s story…
I used to sell horse saddles. At first I had a shop but that didn’t work out with all the overheads so I moved that business online. I had horses for twenty odd years. So I was riding a lot and doing a lot of heavy lifting, be it saddles or bales, everything to do with horses is hard work and heavy. I had plenty of falls from horses but never anything serious.
I got into house plants about 7 years ago and soon discovered there was a demand for them so I set up my own online business. I started with Bonsai trees but soon moved into indoor plants and now I’ve got thousands. So if someone orders a plant from me I snip off a bit of one of my plants, I propagate it in a system I have so it takes roots, which it does amazingly quickly, and then I delicately package it up and send it to my customers. I do all my business through eBay.
I’m currently sitting at home surrounded by about 50 or 60 anthurium plants and they look beautiful. Working with plants does require a fair amount of physical effort. Lifting watering cans and moving plant pots around the place. It was becoming more and more difficult.
About two years ago my right shoulder started to feel a bit stiff and painful. It really didn’t want to move backwards and it gradually got worse and worse to the point where even getting dressed in the morning proved difficult. I couldn’t get my right-arm around to pull up my trousers, lifting the kettle would send it into spasms. I nearly dropped the kettle on so many occasions because of the pain. There is no worse feeling than not being able to rely on your body to do something you take for granted.
I never thought to go to the doctor for it because I just assumed it was part of getting older. I thought to myself; well what can they do about it? I’m someone who will try and treat a problem myself.
I’d had the bad shoulder for about 6 months and I started swimming to see if that might help. At first being in the water seemed to really help. I was getting mobility back in the shoulder and the pain was easing up. But then the colder months kicked in and while I could still swim the ache began to come back. It got to the point where if I’d been swimming in the day I’d be close to tears in the evening such was the pain.
The pain was so bad I couldn’t sleep. I’d sleep on the other side and in the middle of the night my arm would wake me up in such pain. When you’re not getting enough sleep everything is worse, especially pain. Swimming became harder because I was so tired. My family like to go on family bowling trips and the pain in my shoulder was so bad I had to teach myself to bowl left-handed, which isn’t easy!
That’s where I was in December of 2025 when I walked into Superdrug. I’d tried the likes of Voltarol and Deep Heat so wanted to see if there was anything else available. And that’s when I saw FlexiSEQ. I quickly went on Google and looked at the reviews on Trustpilot. Most of them said that you might not notice the difference at first but stick with it because it will help if you continue with it. I’m dedicated to fixing myself and not bothering doctors. I thought this was worth a try.
I bought FlexiSEQ and I am really, really amazed at the difference I’ve seen in the last 5 weeks. Honestly, over the past five weeks I’ve had the first proper night’s sleep in ages. At first it was just one night a week I got a good night then it went to two and this past week I’ve been able to lie on my arm and sleep through the night without any pain. It has made such a difference, I can now put my arm behind my back, there is no way I could do that before FlexiSEQ.
You do have to stick with it, for the first week or so I couldn’t notice a difference but because of reading the reviews I was determined to stick with it and slowly but surely I started to feel the difference. I still bowl with my left-hand and I won for the first time the other day! It goes to show, you must never give up. Thanks to FlexiSEQ I can carry my watering can again, I use the kettle without nearly dropping due to excruciating pain in my shoulder. Now I can go swimming and in the evening after I’ve gone I’m not in pain anymore. I put that all down to FlexiSEQ. I’m still aware of the pain from time to time and know how to manage it but I’m not in agony and more often than not I don’t even think about it.
I’m amazed FlexiSEQ is drug-free and yet it works so effectively. I used Voltarol for two years but now I don’t need it anymore, I just use FlexiSEQ. I recommended it to a fellow swimmer who also has a bad shoulder. I’d like to say thank you to FlexiSEQ, being able to sleep, to relax and to do the things I love. Everything in life is better when your pain goes away.
