Pamela Kimbell has led an amazing life raising five children and working in social care. Now in her eighties joint pain started to get in the way of the life she loves.
This is Pamela’s story…
I was born during the War so spent a lot of my early life moving around and being bombed out of wherever we were at the time. I was always active, for much of my life I loved to play golf and later on I took up lawn bowls.
I’ve raised five children in my life, three of my own and two from my second husband whose first wife had passed away. So I’ve always been on the go. I spent my career working in social services in what was called Home Help. I would help organise teams of women who would go to elderly people’s homes to support them. It’s not a service offered anymore which is a pity but it was something I was always proud to be part of.
These days my greatest passion is my garden. I try to get out in it as much as I can. It’s quite a big garden so it’s often too much for me to manage myself but it really is my happy place. It’s easy to underestimate how much you have to move and be active to be out in the garden, it can be hard work.
As I’ve gotten a bit older my balance has really begun to go. Last year alone I had 12 accidents, the latest one being I managed to slip and bang my head on the shower glass so I’m a bit bruised at the moment. Last year I started to have issues with my shoulder where it kept coming out. So I became very aware of protecting It. As a result I tripped and to try not to damage my shoulder I fell to my knee. That turned out to be a bad idea.
As a result of that fall I put my knee out and developed a terrible pain in it. I could barely walk, going up stairs and getting out of bed all became incredibly painful for me. I mentioned it to the doctor when I was there for something else and she gave me some Voltarol, which did nothing for me. She also organised a physio appointment for me but that was going to take several weeks to be referred to.
So I started to do a bit of online research and I came across this stuff called FlexiSEQ. Well, all the reviews were incredibly positive but I am slightly wary about trusting what you read on the internet but wanted to give it a try. So I ordered the one tube to see if it would work. Within four days I could feel the difference in my knee, the pain was getting better. I still had the occasional twinge but for the most part it felt pain-free.
It was working so well that by the time I got my physio appointment they checked me over, gave me a few exercises to work on and said I wouldn’t need another appointment. They told me the muscles around the joint were strong, which is testament to what an active lifestyle can do for you. I told them all about FlexiSEQ and how it was helping me.
Thanks to FlexiSEQ I’m able to get back into my garden which is wonderful. I’m so happy I decided to give it a go.
