Lynn Hughes spent her entire career working for Inland Revenue before ill health forced her to retire.

Left in pain by her arthritis she was frustrated at living life on the sidelines. That was until she found FlexiSEQ and a reason to #SayYESToLife.

This is Lynn’s story….

I started work at 17 and spent my entire career with Inland Revenue, first as a clerical assistant and then working my way up to tax inspector. I did that for 42 years. It was very rewarding because taxes are, in essence, the backbone of our society. In my opinion, not paying them is immoral, which is something I had to explain to those we caught out!

When I wasn’t working, I loved to travel. I’ve been to some amazing places in my time, including Canada, the Maldives and Africa. I also love the countryside and the sea; I call them my ‘happy’ places.

I was only 40 when I was first diagnosed with arthritis. I don’t think sitting at a computer all my working days helped. It definitely slowed me down. At the time, my husband was self-employed, so he’d pick up the slack and do any jobs that I couldn’t do, like taking our daughter to school or going off on long walks with our dogs.

I tried to do what I could but there were occasions when I just had to watch, like once on a beach on holiday. I know it’s better to stay as active as possible, but sometimes if the pain is getting the better of you, it’s okay to just admit that.

“FlexiSEQ helped me almost immediately. I’m one of those people who likes to follow instructions so I was using the right amount and applying around the joint rather than on it before letting it dry rather than rubbing it in.”

Eventually, even the smallest task, like walking up the stairs or getting up off the sofa, became difficult. My knees would grow so stiff that they wouldn’t bend the way I needed them too. Suddenly, every step became painful.

Then one day my sister saw FlexiSEQ advertised in Lloyds Pharmacy. At that point I was willing to try anything to keep me mobile. I know when I move my joints I feel better for it but if the pain is too much it makes it impossible.

I was a bit shocked by the price but my attitude was “if it works, I don’t care how much it costs”.

FlexiSEQ helped me almost immediately. I’m one of those people who likes to follow instructions so I was using the right amount and applying around the joint rather than on it before letting it dry rather than rubbing it in.

I soon found I could move my knee joints better and a lot of the pain had dissipated. I couldn’t believe it. These days, I wake up and apply my FlexiSEQ every morning and it takes me through the day.

I can climb the stairs without thinking about it. I can put the laundry out, I can get up off the sofa easily. FlexiSEQ is what gets me up and going each morning.

In turn, it’s helped my mental state. We have a caravan and with a helping hand from FlexiSEQ I can now walk the length of a beach on holiday and feel no pain. No more watching from the sidelines as others enjoy life. I’m part of life now. Honestly, if it weren’t for FlexiSEQ I wouldn’t be doing much at all.

I have it on a subscription from Amazon and it turns up whenever I need it. I’ve been posting about FlexiSEQ on arthritis websites to tell others. I’ve had people telling me how much it’s helped them.

Whenever I pack to go away, FlexiSEQ is always the first item in my bag. I always ask myself “do I have enough for this trip?” and if not I order more. And what’s great is more often than not I don’t need any painkillers on top of the FlexiSEQ, it does the job enough to keep me moving.
